a little about me
• I'm a color-obsessed West Coast, USA-based artist. I grew up in Portland, Oregon, moved to Los Angeles at 17, and now live in the mountains of SoCal with my husband of 13 years.
• After 10+ years of working as a photographer and graphic designer for others, I started to allow myself to dream again and build this brand of my own, obie&fraer. I've designed packaging for client products that have been sold at retailers like REI and Anthropologie (pinch me!), and now have hopes of getting my own products out into the world.
• I mainly use watercolor and gouache paints before finishing up my pieces in Photoshop or Procreate, sometimes using paper and other fun mixed media combos.
• If I'm not painting or working on a project for O&F, I'm usually cooking, listening to my favorite tunes, forest-bathing, reading, or vegging out on a reality tv show (my shameless guilty pleasure and favorite form of people-watching).
• I love people and kindness and making the simple moments and things in life as magical and beautiful -and appreciated - as possible.
• People who inspire me: Paul Smith, Tyler Hays, Ralph Lauren, Józef Wilkon, Alice and Martin Provensen, Beatrice Alemagna, Taro Gomi, Roger Duvoisin, Aliki, Gyo Fujikawa, and J.M.W. Turner.
• Fun fact: my absolute favorite color is brown!
